Br. Eduardo’s Last Weekend

July 21-22, 2018 was Br. Eduardo’s last weekend with us before he returns to St. Augustine’s Seminary in September to complete his final year of studies.  We presented Br. Eduardo with his Admission Degree certificate as well as a cheque from the Knights of Columbus Vocations Fund (Canada) Refund Support Vocations Program (RSVP).  Let us pray for Br. Annual Knights of Columbus William J. (Bill) Menton Memorial Scholarship Presentations

On June 27 and June 28, Council 6519 presented four graduating students from Cardinal Carter CHS, St. Maximilian Kolbe CHS, and Ecole Secondaire Catholique Renaissance with the annual William J. (Bill) Menton Memorial Scholarships.

Our Lady of Grace Annual Parish Picnic and Youth Ministry End of Year BBQ

On Sunday, June 10, 2018 and Friday, June 15, 2018 Aurora Council 6519 barbecued for the Annual Parish Picnic and also for the Youth Ministry End of Year BBQ.  The weather was perfect, Fr. Marijan had water guns, and everyone had a great time!  Many thanks to Ecole Saint-Jean and Ecole Secondaire Catholique Renaissance for lending us their BBQs so all that food could be prepared!  Special thanks to the following Brother Knights for volunteering:

Aurora Chamber of Commerce Street Festival

On Sunday, June 3, 2018, Council 6519 participated in the annual Aurora Chamber of Commerce Street Festival and sold 2018 Charities Lottery tickets in support of Special Olympics Ontario and The Arthritis Society.  Over $1500 in tickets were sold to support these worthy causes.  Thank you to McAlpine Ford for providing a Ford Mustang to display at our booth and also to the following Knights for volunteering:

St. Jerome Catholic Elementary School

End of Year Thank You
On June 28, 2018, the staff at St. Jerome presented Aurora Council 6519 with a Thank You certificate for their volunteer efforts throughout the school year.  Student Talia Blount (daughter of Br. John Blount), accepted the certificate on behalf of the Council.

Spring Fling
Aurora Council 6519 volunteered for the school’s annual Spring Fling on May 25, 2018.  Special thanks to the following Brother Knights for helping out:

Grade 8 Graduation Trip
On April 30, 2018, Aurora Council 6519 presented Ms. Wright (Principal) and Mr. Mertens (Teacher) with a cheque to help send two Grade 8 students on the end of year graduation trip to Ottawa, Ontario.

Basketball Free Throw
Congratulations to all 73 students who participated in the Basketball Free Throw competition.  Out of 213 total participants, 4 students from St. Jerome were Council Champions in their age group.  Kiefer Forrest (Age 11) won both the Council and District competitions.  An amazing accomplishment by all!  Special thanks to Ms. Wright and Mr. Mertens for helping us to organize this event.  We can’t wait until next year!
